How To Lose A House in 10 Days

Ok… I get it. I’m not an advice columnist, my name isn’t Kate Hudson, and we are not living in a hilarious rom-com from the early 2000s. We are however in an amazing market where making a few simple mistakes can cost us big time. Buyers, this list is for YOU! Please avoid the following:

Not Using A Real Estate Agent

Purchasing a home can be confusing. An experienced Real Estate Agent helps guide you through the process from start to finish. They have the expertise to make this a successful experience for you. Not using one can cause many costly mistakes that the majority of people regret down the road. Find someone you trust to represent you in one of the most important purchases of your life.

Not Getting Pre-Approved

Not getting pre-approved before looking at homes leaves a lot of room for disappointment. You need to know what kind of budget you are approved for before we start our search. Before you start shopping find a bank or broker to help you with your finances. Once you know how much you are approved for we can begin your search. Your interest rate will also be locked in and ready!

Not Focusing

A confused mind does ABSOLUTELY nothing. If you are seeing too many homes and not narrowing down what you are specifically looking for you will become overwhelmed and miss out on some great purchases. Keep your focus, know what you want, and know what you’re willing to compromise on.

Not Being True To Your Budget

Pleaseeeee don’t become “House Poor”. You can avoid this by asking yourself the honest question of what can we comfortably afford? Do we need to start smaller and build up? How much money will we have left over each month? Completing a budget before buying is an important step to ensure lasting satisfaction in your home.

Everyone wants to be as happy as they can in their new home. Starting the process off right is a critical point in this journey. You can avoid the above mistake simply by hiring a professional to keep your best interests in mind. As a professional, it’s a joy to guide families to their forever home.
