My “How To Buy” Tips for HRM

If only I had a penny for every time someone has asked me if now is the time to buy a home in 2021…

The housing marketing in Halifax is on fire, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down any time soon. With those all-time low-interest rates, it’s hard not to want to get into the market. 2022 is still looking like a fantastic time to buy! I will warn you; it will take some solid professional help to get you into this great market. But with the right people on your side, I’m confident you will find your new home. Here are my three tips on how to buy in HRM.

Start Strong

Start your search with strong professionals by your side. Get yourself an experienced real estate agent that knows the market and is ready to go to bat for you. Another critical piece is finding a qualified mortgage broker to get you pre-qualified on your mortgage. If you don’t know your budget looking at homes will not be enjoyable. A Mortgage Broker goes forth and finds out what you can qualify for and works hard on your behalf with the banks. You aren’t want to start
this journey without both in your corner!

Stay Alert

When houses are going with multiply over asking offers, you need to be alert to what you want and quickly execute your decisions. Have your “Must Have” list written to precisely know what you are looking for and act fast with an offer. The best ways to lose a house in this market in second-guessing and lowballing. Tip: I can’t stress enough how much a realtor can help keep this on track!

Stick to the Plan

If you’re planning to buy a house in this market, don’t lose hope. It’s easy to get disappointed with the prices, multiply offers, and quick sales. But I can confirm from experience that hard work and dedication can avail much. Stick to your plan! If you stick it out and have the proper professional support, you will get the home of your dreams.
